OR ได้รับคัดเลือกให้เป็นสมาชิกดัชนีความยั่งยืนดาวโจนส์ (DJSI) ในกลุ่มดัชนีการตลาดเกิดใหม่ (Emerging Market Index) โดยได้รับคะแนนสูงสุดอันดับ 1 ในกลุ่มธุรกิจค้าปลีก (Retailing) สะท้อนให้เห็นถึงการดำเนินธุรกิจบนรากฐานของความยั่งยืนตามแนวทาง ESG ทั้ง 3 มิติ ตอกย้ำแนวทาง OR SDG ที่มุ่งสร้างอนาคตอย่างยั่งยืน
นายดิษทัต ปันยารชุน ประธานเจ้าหน้าที่บริหาร บริษัท ปตท. น้ำมันและการค้าปลีก จำกัด (มหาชน) หรือ OR เปิดเผยว่า ปีนี้เป็นปีแรกที่ OR ได้รับคัดเลือกจาก S&P Global ให้เป็นสมาชิกดัชนีความยั่งยืนดาวโจนส์ หรือ DJSI (Dow Jones Sustainability Indices) ในกลุ่มดัชนีตลาดเกิดใหม่ (Emerging Market Index) โดยได้รับคะแนนสูงสุดในกลุ่มธุรกิจค้าปลีก (Retailing) ซึ่งถือเป็นความภาคภูมิใจ และตอกย้ำถึงความมุ่งมั่นในการดำเนินธุรกิจของ OR เพื่อสร้างความเข้มแข็งและการเติบโตอย่างยั่งยืน เคียงข้างชุมชน เศรษฐกิจ และสิ่งแวดล้อม ตามแนวทาง ESG ทั้ง 3 มิติ ทั้งในด้านสิ่งแวดล้อม (Environmental) สังคม (Social) และการกำกับดูแลกิจการและเศรษฐกิจ (Governance & Economic)
อีกทั้งยังสะท้อนถึงความมุ่งมั่นในการขับเคลื่อนธุรกิจเพื่อสร้างการเติบโตอย่างยั่งยืน โดยตระหนักถึงความสำคัญของภาคธุรกิจในการเป็นกำลังสำคัญที่จะช่วยยกระดับคุณภาพชีวิตของคนในสังคมตามวิสัยทัศน์ Empowering All toward Inclusive Growth หรือเติมเต็มโอกาสเพื่อทุกการเติบโตร่วมกัน โดยดำเนินการผ่านโครงการต่าง ๆ เช่น โครงการพัฒนาการปลูกกาแฟอย่างยั่งยืน โดยมุ่งพัฒนาและส่งเสริมการปลูกกาแฟควบคู่ไปกับการอนุรักษ์ธรรมชาติในพื้นที่อำเภอแม่แจ่ม จังหวัดเชียงใหม่ โครงการ “Café Amazon for Chance” ที่มุ่งสร้างโอกาสให้สังคม ผ่านการพัฒนาอาชีพให้แก่ผู้ด้อยโอกาส โครงการ “ไทยเด็ด” ซึ่งสนับสนุนช่องทางการขายสินค้าชุมชนทั่วประเทศผ่านสถานีบริการ พีทีที สเตชั่น รวมทั้ง โครงการติดตั้ง Solar Rooftop ในพื้นที่ดำเนินงานของ OR ทั้งในสถานีบริการ พีทีที สเตชั่น และร้านคาเฟ่ อเมซอน และการนำแนวคิด Circular Economy มาแปรรูปเป็นวัสดุก่อสร้างตกแต่งร้านคาเฟ่ อเมซอน เป็นต้น ซึ่งสอดคล้องกับ OR SDG ทั้งในด้าน “S” หรือ “Small” ที่มุ่งเน้นการให้โอกาสเพื่อคนตัวเล็ก ด้าน “D” หรือ “DIVERSIFIED” ที่เน้นการสร้างโอกาสเพื่อการเติบโตในทุกรูปแบบผ่านแฟลตฟอร์มต่าง ๆ ของ OR และด้าน “G” หรือ “GREEN” ที่มุ่งสร้างสิ่งแวดล้อมที่อุดมสมบูรณ์ (Healthy Environment) เพื่อตอบโจทย์เป้าหมาย OR 2030 อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ
ทั้งนี้ ดัชนีความยั่งยืนดาวโจนส์ (Dow Jones Sustainability Indices หรือ DJSI) เป็นดัชนีสากลที่ใช้ประเมินประสิทธิผลการดำเนินธุรกิจตามแนวทางการพัฒนาอย่างยั่งยืนของบริษัทชั้นนำระดับโลก โดย S&P Global เพื่อสร้างความมั่นใจกับนักลงทุนถึงการดำเนินงานอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพทั้งมิติการกำกับดูแลกิจการ เศรษฐกิจ มิติสังคม และมิติสิ่งแวดล้อม โดยในปี 2566 มีบริษัทเข้าร่วมการประเมินมากกว่า 8,300 บริษัททั่วโลก แบ่งเป็น 61 กลุ่มอุตสาหกรรม บริษัทที่ผ่านเกณฑ์การคัดเลือกให้เป็นสมาชิก ต้องมีผลคะแนนสูงสุดเป็น 10% แรกจากทุกบริษัทในกลุ่มอุตสาหกรรมเดียวกัน

OR recognized as the world’s No. 1 in DJSI retailing for the first time, which reflects its sustainable business
OR was selected to be a member of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) in an emerging market index with the highest score in retailing, spotlighting its sustainability-based business in line with the three ESG dimensions, bolstering OR SDG that aim at reaching a sustainable future.
Mr. Disathat Panyarachun, Chief Executive Officer of PTT Oil and Retail Business Public Company Limited (OR), revealed: This is the first year OR is qualified by S&P Global as a member of the DJSI Emerging Market Index at the highest score amongst others in retailing globally. This recognition is a pride and reinforces OR’s commitment to promoting inclusive growth with communities, the economy, and the environment according to the three dimensions of ESG – Environment, Society, and Governance & Economy. Moreover, it echoes OR’s commitments to driving the business for sustainable growth, valuing the business segment as a contribution to improved quality of life of people in society based on its vision “Empowering All toward Inclusive Growth” through different initiatives, e.g., sustainable coffee farming, which aims at developing and promoting coffee cultivation alongside natural conservation efforts in Mae Chaem District, Chiang Mai; “Café Amazon for Chance,” which aims at broadening job opportunities through career development for the underprivileged; “Thai Det,” which allocates a sales platform for community products across the country at PTT service stations; solar rooftops within OR’s premises, both in PTT Stations and Café Amazon; the application of the circular economy concept to influence materials used for the construction of Café Amazon, etc. These all are in line with the OR SDG in terms of “S” or “SMALL” that focuses on rendering opportunities to communities, “D” or “DIVERSIFIED” that focuses on ensuring opportunities for growth of all forms through OR’s platforms, and “G” or “GREEN” that focuses on shaping a healthy environment to effectively fulfill the OR 2030 goals.
In this regard, S&P Global’s Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) is an international index used to evaluate the performance of sustainability-based business operations of leading world-class companies to strengthen investor confidence out of effective operations across corporate governance, economic, social and environmental dimensions. In 2023, more than 8,300 companies across the globe registered for assessment, divided into 61 industrial segments. Companies qualified as a member must represent the top 10% of the companies from the same segment.
