ปตท.สผ. ชี้แจง “การเปลี่ยนแปลงผู้ร่วมทุนในโครงการยาดานา ประเทศเมียนมา”
จากการที่ บริษัท โททาลเอนเนอร์ยี่ส์ อีพี เมียนมา ได้แจ้งว่าจะขอถอนตัวจากการเป็นผู้ร่วมทุนและผู้ดำเนินการ (Operator) ในโครงการยาดานา และในบริษัท Moattama Gas Transportation Company (MGTC) ซึ่งดำเนินธุรกิจท่อส่งก๊าซจากโครงการฯ ในประเทศเมียนมา เมื่อวันที่ 21 มกราคม 2565 นั้น บริษัท ปตท.สำรวจและผลิตปิโตรเลียม จำกัด (มหาชน) หรือ ปตท.สผ. รับทราบการตัดสินใจดังกล่าวแล้ว โดยบริษัท โททาลเอนเนอร์ยี่ส์ อีพี เมียนมา จะยังคงเป็นผู้ดำเนินการในโครงการต่อไปอีก 6 เดือน เพื่อรักษาความต่อเนื่องในการผลิตก๊าซธรรมชาติของโครงการ
ปตท.สผ. อยู่ระหว่างพิจารณาแนวทางการบริหารจัดการในเรื่องนี้ โดยจะคำนึงถึงประโยชน์สูงสุดด้านความมั่นคงทางพลังงานของประเทศไทยและเมียนมาเป็นสำคัญ เพื่อไม่ให้ส่งผลกระทบต่อความต้องการใช้พลังงานของประชาชนทั้งสองประเทศ เนื่องจากก๊าซธรรมชาติที่ผลิตจากโครงการยาดานาเป็นเชื้อเพลิงหลักที่ใช้ในการผลิตกระแสไฟฟ้า ซึ่งเป็นสาธารณูปโภคพื้นฐานที่สำคัญต่อการดำรงชีวิตของประชาชนในภาคตะวันตกของประเทศไทย และในเมียนมา
ทั้งนี้ โครงการยาดานา และบริษัท MGTC มีผู้ร่วมทุน ประกอบด้วย บริษัท โททาลเอนเนอร์ยี่ส์ อีพี เมียนมา ถือสัดส่วนการลงทุนร้อยละ 31.2375 บริษัท ยูโนแคลเมียนมา ออฟชอร์ ร้อยละ 28.2625 บริษัท ปตท.สผ. อินเตอร์เนชั่นแนล จำกัด ซึ่งเป็นบริษัทย่อยของ ปตท.สผ. ร้อยละ 25.5 และบริษัท เมียนมา ออยล์ แอนด์ แก๊ซ เอ็นเตอร์ไพรส์ (MOGE) ร้อยละ 15

Changes in joint venture partner of the Yadana project in Myanmar
PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP) has been notified of TotalEnergies EP Myanmar’s decision, dated January 21, 2022, to withdraw its investment and operatorship in the Yadana project and Moattama Gas Transportation Company (MGTC), the gas pipeline company for Yadana project in Myanmar. TotalEnergies EP Myanmar will continue its operatorship of the project for the next 6 months to maintain continuity in gas production.
PTTEP is considering potential directions of the Yadana project whereby putting the utmost importance for the energy security of Thailand and Myanmar and preventing impacts on energy demand to the livelihood of people in both countries. Yadana is the main source of natural gas supply for electricity generation that serves people in western Thailand and in Myanmar.
The consortium of Yadana project and MGTC consists of TotalEnergies EP Myanmar (as the Operator) with 31.2375% participating interest, Unocal Myanmar Offshore Company Limited (UMOCL) 28.2625%, PTTEP International Limited (PTTEPI) which is a subsidiary of PTTEP 25.5%, and Myanma Oil and Gas Enterprise (MOGE) 15%.
