KBank encourages volunteers to join forces in creating a sustainable society under “Tham Di Thai Dai: Let’s Do Good Deeds Together Again”

KBank never stops doing good deeds, and aims to do even more this year. To help create a happy and sustainable society, the Bank allows its employees to take a day off each year to join the “Tham Di Tham Dai: Let’s Do Good Deeds Together Again” program. KBank anticipates that 24,000 staff members will join the program with 200,000 hours of service by the end of 2019.

Dr. Adit Laixuthai, KBank Senior Executive Vice President, revealed that KBank has encouraged KBank staff to take part in volunteer activities under the program called “Tham Di Tham Dai: Let’s Do Good Deeds Together Again” both during and outside of working hours. The project started in 2016 with an initial target of 20,000 hours of volunteer activities. Entering its fourth year, the project now has a more ambitious target of 24,000 participating employees, volunteering a total of 200,000 hours of service by the end of 2019. KBank staff members are also encouraged to invite their family members, friends and colleagues to volunteer for social work in line with the “Green DNA” concept of sustainable development, which is embedded in the collective conscience of every staff member through every business process and activity of KBank.

Over 30,000 employees of KBank, KBTG and K Companies are free to take one day off each year, which shall not be counted as a day of leave, to contribute their competency and knowledge to society via any volunteer activity of their choice, whether alone or as a group of at least 10 persons. KBank will offer financial support of 5,000 Baht for each group to engage in volunteer activities. These may include environmental conservation and those for the benefit of society at large or the underprivileged, as well as other social programs that they may participate in with local communities or agencies. KBank believes that such activities will provide an opportunity for our employees to spend more time in communities close to their offices, allowing them to better understand the needs and problems of local residents. At the same time, they may help their communities to find solutions or organize activities that bring about positive changes for sustainable development together.

Employees may update these activities via KBank Green DNA on Facebook in order to share the news of their good deeds with the public, which will in turn motivate others to do good works for a sustainable and balanced economy, society and environment. Over the past three years, around 41,000 KBank staff members have performed more than 230,000 hours of volunteer activities under the Tham Di Tham Dai program.
